About DojoStack
DojoStack is building a voice-native, canvas AI tutor that you talk to and sketch with on your tablet or phone. It teaches STEM at the level of a great human tutor - for the 1.5 billion learners who will never afford one.
Everybody wants to build an AI tutor… Building a product that rivals a real human is close to impossible. A demo takes a weekend, but shipping something that parents and students trust means being right 99%+ of the time. The last stretch is a hardcore infrastructure game: evals, fine-tuning, human-in-the-loop, agent graph engineering, GitOps, … the infrastructure that generic LLM wrappers never touch.
We are infrastructure-grade under the hood and consumer-grade on the surface, which is extremely rare in one company.
Our team has founded and scaled data-infrastructure companies to hundreds of millions in value. Now we’re applying that experience to education: truly personalized learning at global scale. We’re backed by some of the best investors in the world and are extremely well funded for the journey ahead.
Based in Berlin, DojoStack is a tight-knit group of top 1% engineers, designers, and researchers we’ve worked with before. We move fast, own problems end to end, and care deeply about what we build.
If you want to build real AI with urgency, autonomy, and purpose, we’d love to meet you.
About the role
We’re not looking for a traditional product designer. We’re looking for a design engineer → someone who spends 60–70% of their day designing, and with the rise of AI agents, implements the rest themselves.
You’ll own design end to end: talk to users, align with product and engineering, design in Figma, and then ship the final result pixel-perfect across desktop, tablet, and phone (web, iOS & Android). Extreme ownership and taste are the job description.
We’re building a STEM product, so a solid understanding of math matters: you’ll design widgets in subjects like math and learning flows where how something is represented decides how well it’s learned.
This is an entry-level founding role: straight out of university or 1–2 years in. What counts is what you’ve shipped and the taste it shows.
Joining DojoStack is like going to the gym (or dojo). If it doesn’t hurt, you’re not doing it right!
What you will do
- Design end-user flows and widgets that make complex concepts feel simple
- Spend 60–70% of your time designing in Figma — components, auto-layout, variables
- Implement your own designs with AI agents at your side straight in the code
- Maintain and evolve our design system as the product grows
Requirements for the role
- You spend most of your time in Figma and know UI/UX best practices
- You’re willing (and excited) to implement what you design; git and AI agent workflows included
- You understand Tailwind and SCSS (variables, tokens, utilities) — or you’re willing to learn the basics fast. AI writes most of it, but you need to read what it writes
- You notice the pixel, the word, the millisecond that’s off
- A solid understanding of math — enough to design STEM content with confidence
- Clear communicator across users, product, and engineering
What we offer
- Real ownership - in both scope and equity
- Competitive salary
- A steep personal growth curve, with expanding responsibility
- The chance to work at the frontier of applied AI
- A high-trust team and a mission that matters
You’ll learn what excellent looks like
Most people go through a whole career without seeing truly excellent work up close. We pride ourselves on having the battle scars to know what excellence in product building looks like → from scalable data models to GitOps all the way to end-user design taste, and scalable internal processes. You get to learn them here up close. Your success is our success, and we’re committed to teaching you these best practices.
You might excel if you…
- Have a trail of things you designed and built that nobody asked for (side projects, redesigns, interactive demos)
- Are highly competitive, ambitious, and energized by intensity
- Thrive on feedback and iterate fast — strong opinions, loosely held
- Enjoy both creative and technical problems
